In the next few years, $22 billion is expected to transfer from one generation to the next through probate estates. Over the next 50 years, the expected transfer of wealth for Central New York is estimated at $240 billion.

If just five percent of the projected transfer through 2019 could be invested at the Community Foundation in an endowed fund, nearly $1.1 million would be gained. Figuring a five percent (5%) grant payout, an estimated $55 million could be available annually to improve the quality of life in our community.
