The Central New York Community Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2023 Frederick K. Kilian Memorial Scholarship.

Two scholarships of $3,050 will be awarded and may be renewable annually for up to 4 years (or 5 years for engineering only), subject to the recipients’ continued full-time matriculation in their program of study and maintenance of a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Selection criteria includes academic performance, commitment to the chosen field of study and meaningful volunteer service in the community.

Since inception, the Kilian Memorial Scholarship has awarded over $341,000 in total scholarship dollars to 42 local students.

“Several of the Kilian scholarship’s recipients have gone on to rewarding careers right here in the Central New York area,” said Ahmeed Turner, Vice President, Scholarships and Student Support; Executive Director, Say Yes Syracuse. “The impact of this fund has been remarkable.”

Eligible recipients must be graduating from an Onondaga County high school and have already been accepted into an accredited institution of higher education pursuing a Bachelor’s program in the fields of engineering, manufacturing, science or education.

Previous scholarship recipients have pursued degrees ranging from Engineering to Biology. The application deadline is April 15, 2023.

To apply, visit cnycf.org/kilian. Please contact Ahmeed Turner at the Central New York Community Foundation at 315.422.9538 or scholarship@cnycf.org for more information.

The Frederick K. Kilian Memorial Scholarship Fund was established in 2003 in honor of the late Frederick K. Kilian, founder of Kilian Manufacturing Corp. in Syracuse.
