Software Conversion Update

Important information about our software conversion and expected service suspensions and delays.

October 9, 2024 Update:

Our software conversion is complete and the new MyGiving portal for fundholders is now active. Thank you for your patience during this organization-wide system update.

If you have a fund at the Community Foundation, you should have received an email on October 9 with instructions for how to set up your account in MyGiving so you can access your fund online. If you did not see this email, please check your Spam or Junk folder or contact donorsupport@cnycf.org for assistance. Fundholders can view tutorials and FAQs about the software here.

September 23, 2024 Update:

The Community Foundation has completed the first phase of our software migration. We are pleased with how this organization-wide project has progressed and grateful for your patience during this time of transition.

As of September 23:

  • Online giving pages are…back online! Donors can once again give securely via credit card to funds at the Community Foundation by clicking “Donate Now” at the top of our homepage and using the Find a Fund search feature, or by using a direct link to a fund’s landing page and clicking “Donate Now” there. The new giving form looks a bit different, but still provides a secure and straightforward way for people to give and provides an immediate tax receipt via email.
  • Distributions out of our funds will resume the week of September 23. We will begin processing the distributions that have been queued since August 30, and in the order they were received. Fundholders can continue to submit distribution requests to donorsupport@cnycf.org or by mail until the new fundholder portal is launched in October.
  • For fundholders: the MyGiving portal will remain static until our upgraded version of MyGiving goes live in October. Fund Summary, Contributions, Grants Paid and Grant Summary by Year sections of your account will reflect fund activity as of August 30, 2024 but will not be updated until the new portal goes live. At that time you will receive instructions for how to access your account in the new portal. Throughout the month of September and until the new MyGiving portal is up and running, fundholders can email grant recommendations to donorsupport@cnycf.org. We will email regular updates to prepare you for the launch of the new MyGiving portal, so please check your email often to stay informed.

We ask for your continued patience over the next several months as we update our procedures and become accustomed to our new software. Please feel free to reach out to Monica Merante, senior director of philanthropic services, with any questions or concerns at mmerante@cnycf.org or (315) 883-5541.

August 19, 2024 Update:

The Community Foundation is migrating to new integrated software this fall that will help us serve you better and provide exciting new online features for our donors. At certain times during this conversion, some of our services will be suspended or delayed. We want to communicate these outages with you ahead of time.

Between August 30 – September 20:

  • Online giving pages will be disabled. If someone clicks the Donate Now button on a fund’s landing page on our website, they will be redirected to a page with information about why the giving pages are temporarily disabled, instructions for how to give by check if they choose, and contact information for a member of our team who can offer assistance.
  • Distributions out of our funds will be suspended. Donor-advised fundholders can still submit grant requests to donorsupport@cnycf.org during this time. Requests will be queued and processed in the order they were received once we’re back online in our new software.
  • Contributions into our funds will be deposited, but not receiptedCheck donations will be deposited during this time, however donors will not receive acknowledgment letters for their gifts until a few weeks later, once our new software is live. Gifts received during this period will be processed and receipted in the order they were received.

For fundholders who use our online portal (MyGiving), some features of your account will be limited until the new MyGiving portal launches in early October.

Beginning August 30 and until the new portal is live, the following features will be unavailable:

  • Edit Profile
  • Change Username/Password
  • Request a Statement
  • Recommend a Grant
  • Saved Grant Recommendations
  • Fund Summary, Contributions, Grants Paid and Grant Summary by Year sections of your account will reflect activity as of August 30, 2024 but will not be updated until the new portal goes live in early October.

Throughout the month of September and until the new MyGiving portal is up and running, fundholders can email grant recommendations to donorsupport@cnycf.org. Requests will be queued and processed in the order they were received.

We will email regular updates to prepare you for the launch of the new MyGiving portal, so please check your email to stay informed.

Our staff pride themselves on being responsive to your requests and we will continue to be available to answer questions during this conversion.

We ask that you be patient with us over the next several months as we update our procedures and become accustomed to our new software. Please feel free to reach out to me directly with any questions or concerns at mmerante@cnycf.org or (315) 883-5541.
