Cayuga Fund Distributes More than $73,000 in Grants

The Cayuga Community Fund, an affiliate fund of the Central New York Community Foundation, awarded $73,708 to 16 nonprofit organizations that serve residents of Cayuga County.

ABC Cayuga received $5,656 to create a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) creative learning space for children ages 5-8.

ARISE Child and Family Services received $4,336 to construct home access ramps for clients.

Auburn Downtown Partnership received $5,000 to support the 2022 Harriet Tubman Bicentennial programming which will foster community conversation and attract visitors.

Auburn YMCA-WEIU received $2,500 to offer fitness challenges that will help members achieve goals, make friends and connect them to a cause that inspires them.

Booker T. Washington Community Center received $3,016 to purchase a shed near the community garden to store materials and equipment.

Cayuga Museum of History and Art received $3,377 to implement a new arts program designed for seniors, which includes take-home photography kits and an on-site workshop series.

Caspar Gregory Camp received $8,000 to update its outdoor recreational facilities, including a paved court and barbecue area.

Fair Haven Community Arts Center received $3,763 to purchase a microphone, audio system & internet support for upcoming programs.

Howland Stone Store Museum received $9,750 to professionally frame rare suffrage posters and fund a theatre production based on suffrage efforts.

Perform 4 Purpose received $7,350 to purchase sound engineering equipment for new programming.

Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center received $10,000 to begin the first phase of its West End Arts Campus, a joint project with Cayuga Museum.

Seward House Museum received $2,000 to fund its summer internship program, which is staffed by Cayuga County students.

Sterling Historical Society received $1,875 to preserve and paint the New York Central Signal Tower.

Unity House of Cayuga County received $1,750 to fund training for four mental health professionals who will then attend the Certified Psychiatric Rehabilitation Practitioner (CPRP) exam.

Wells College received $4,336 to hire a virtual author/presenter to lead a conversation on racism, which will be attended by local educators, nonprofits and the Wells community.

Westminster Presbyterian Church received $999 to purchase a camera for hybrid meetings.
