ABOUT THIS EVENT:
This interactive, 2-hour hybrid-workshop, is designed for nonprofit professionals looking to enhance their communication strategies by harnessing the power of AI, and social media. Participants will gain a foundational understanding of how AI tools and social media platforms can be used to engage diverse audiences and amplify their mission. Through practical examples and actionable tips, you’ll gain tools and knowledge to maximize your organization’s reach, storytelling and more to drive greater community engagement and lasting impact. The program is designed to provide value to nonprofit communicators at all experience levels.

This is a FREE hybrid event, offering both in-person and virtual options to attend.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Kelly C. Gaggin, Ph.D., APR, Fellow PRSA is a senior advisor with Strategic Communications, LLC in Syracuse and an assistant professor in the Advertising + Public Relations Department at Michigan State University, where she is also interim director for the University’s graduate program in strategic communications. She also teaches at Onondaga Community College.
Her professional experience spans more than two decades including corporate and agency environments, and encompassing a multitude of industries: education, health care, technology, defense, nonprofit, tourism/hospitality and financial services/banking. And her research is rooted in exploring public relations and strategic communications as drivers of cross-cultural understanding and relationship-building with special attention to nonprofit organizations and the populations they serve.
In 2024 she published her first book Nonprofit Communications: A Mission-Driven and Human-Centered Approach a passion project aimed to educate professionals and students alike in their quest to understand, create, and execute effective nonprofit communications that keep the mission and the community at the heart.
She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America’s prestigious College of Fellows and has earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) credential. And, she was recognized with CNY 40 Under Forty distinction for her career accomplishments and commitment to her community.
Gaggin earned a Ph.D. in mass communications and an M.S. in communications management from Syracuse University. She completed her undergraduate study in business administration, marketing and economics at Le Moyne College in Syracuse.
