Equipping the region’s nonprofits with the tools and know-how to manage healthy operations and impactful programs helps them to accomplish their missions and serve the community in the most effective ways possible.

Here is a sample of what we accomplish when we combine the generosity of our donors with the hard work of our community partners. With your help, we can do more.

What We’re Doing

Tealye Pinet, career services coordinator at On Point for College, used a Staff Advancement grant to attend a state-wide training.
  • Nonprofit budgets often don’t have room to support the costs of professional development opportunities for their staff members, which can lead to growth limitations within their ranks. We’ve helped:
  • Host workshops and seminars for nonprofit staff and board members
  • Send front-line nonprofit staff members to conferences and trainings
  • Develop the personal and professional competencies of emerging leaders
  • Connect executive directors with one-on-one coaching and peer groups

Balancing the demands of community need with limited resources can leave nonprofits unsure of how to take their organizations to the next level. We’ve helped:

  • Train members of neighborhood and grassroots groups to be more effective
  • Increase the pool of diverse nonprofit board members in our community
  • Connect talented Central New York individuals with nonprofit board service opportunities
  • Provide the facilities for nonprofits to hold meetings, trainings and events

In an atmosphere of finite resources, nonprofits must continually seek to enhance efficiencies, decrease overhead costs or otherwise adapt in order to maintain or expand operations. We’ve helped:

  • Create synergies in and between nonprofits that enhance program delivery and efficiently use limited financial and human resources
  • Gather stakeholders around pressing issues to identify ways we can work together and direct funding to the best ideas

Participants of a Performance Management Learning Community session learn new data measuring skills.

Data can have a profound effect on a nonprofit’s ability to properly meet the needs of those it serves. We’ve helped:

  • Improve data measurement to help organizations track their efforts and look for trends
  • Pinpoint the life needs of neighborhood residents and pair organizations that can help
