This fund was established in October 2011 in response to the Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee tragedies that took place in late summer 2011. Funds raised through Farm Credit East Cares go toward future tragedy or disaster assistance; charitable organizations and local, regional or state nonprofit charitable organizations focused on agricultural youth or local agricultural development and promotion.
