Forrest H. Witmeyer was born in Annville, PA and lived in Syracuse for many years after graduating from Syracuse University before moving to Rochester in 1995. He was president of Excelsior Insurance Co. in Syracuse from 1946 until his retirement in 1970. He was president of the Rotary Club of Syracuse and a member of the board of trustees of University United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Republican Citizens Committee of Central New York and was active with Onondaga Pastoral Counseling Service. Forrest established this fund to support the broad and changing needs of the community.
