Mary Ann Shaw, a former member of the Community Foundation’s board of directors, and her husband, Kenneth, have been serving the local community for many years. Mary Ann helped create the SU Literacy Corps Tutors and the Center for Public and Community Service at Syracuse University, which promotes community service as a fundamental part of the educational experience. She also chaired the Golisano Children’s Hospital Advisory Board. Kenneth served as the 10th Chancellor and President of Syracuse University for over 13 years and served as the chairman of the Metropolitan Development Association. Together, they established this fund to benefit the region they have both served and to engage their three children and seven grandchildren in philanthropy.
