Donald Trufant, an Auburn native, served in the Air Force for four years before working in the banking and financial services industry and retiring in Virginia. A 1950 graduate of Union Springs High School, Donald decided to give back to his alma mater in the form of a scholarship. Annual scholarships are awarded to students graduating from Auburn High School and Union Springs High School. Award winners must possess leadership qualities, be in the top one-fifth of their class and believe in facing challenges head-on.
