The Spirit of Syracuse Chorus is dedicated to music education for women of all ages, providing opportunities to develop vocal skills, confidence and musical excellence in a welcoming and supportive environment. A proud chapter of Sweet Adelines International, the chorus is part of a worldwide organization committed to advancing the art of barbershop harmony through education, performance and competition.
Founded in 1957, the Spirit of Syracuse Chorus has entertained audiences throughout Central New York and across North America. As a member of the Greater New York/New Jersey Region 15, the chorus emphasizes mentorship, collaboration and ongoing education. Its commitment to youth music education includes hosting the annual Say-aca-Fest youth music festival and co-founding Lakeside A cappella, programs that introduce young singers to a cappella music and encourage continued participation in the art form.
The Spirit of Syracuse Chorus Agency Fund supports the chorus’ initiatives, helping ensure continued access to music education and opportunities for women and young people to experience the power of four-part a cappella singing.
