Volunteer Lawyers Project Of CNY Fund

The Volunteer Lawyers Project of Central New York (VLPCNY) is a nonprofit legal aid organization dedicated to expanding access to justice for low-income individuals and families across Central New York. Since 1991, VLPCNY has provided free legal information, advice, and representation in critical civil matters, including housing, family law, elder law, immigration, LGBTQ+ rights, and consumer issues. With the support of staff and hundreds of volunteers, VLPCNY serves thousands of community members each year, helping people protect their rights, achieve stability, and move forward with dignity.

This agency fund is established to support the long-term sustainability and flexibility of VLPCNY’s work. It enables the organization to respond to emerging community needs while continuing to address gaps in essential legal services. The fund also provides donors with a convenient and impactful way to give, including options such as cash, securities, and other assets, while benefiting from the Community Foundation’s professional stewardship.

Distributions from the fund will support VLPCNY’s ongoing operations and programs, ensuring continued access to free civil legal services for those who need them most. Through this fund, donors help strengthen access to justice and invest in a more equitable community.
