Pennies from Heaven was created in loving memory of our uncle, cousin, and friend, Father Francis Gera. Father Francis dedicated his life to serving others, especially children and families in need. He left behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, compassion, and faith—a legacy we hope to continue through this fund.
The Pennies from Heaven Fund will support organizations and causes that reflect Father Francis’s spirit of giving, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, local food pantries, Toys for Tots, and other programs that bring hope, comfort, and opportunity to children and families who need it most.
The name Pennies from Heaven comes from one of our cherished childhood memories. Every summer, Father Francis would toss pennies into the pool, and we would excitedly dive in to collect them—and yes, we got to keep them. What seemed like a simple game became a lasting reminder of his joyful and generous heart.
Today, Pennies from Heaven honors that memory and the belief that even the smallest acts of generosity can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
