Charitable clients love to learn that there are many options for giving to charity that can be tailored to fit their unique needs.

In her role as an accountant and financial planner, Grace always brings up the topic of charitable giving with her clients during estate or financial planning conversations. Charitable clients love to learn that there are many options for giving to charity that can be tailored to fit their unique needs.

For example, she explained that someone who wants to offset a big tax liability in a given year may want to consider opening a donor-advised fund at the Community Foundation. “They can make a larger contribution to the fund to offset federal and state taxes or capital gains, but still maintain their routine support of their favorite charities by distributing grants from the fund on their timeframe,” she said.

Grace’s clients who work with us have developed positive relationships with the organization and continue to use their funds year after year for their charitable giving.

“I tell my staff that the Community Foundation makes it easy to set up and administer a fund so donors know they are in compliance with all rules and regulations without lifting a finger,” she said. “I have full confidence in their ability to assist my clients’ charitable giving needs.”
