Jane Schum established this scholarship in 2018 in memory of her sister, Jean Lynch, who was a teacher in the Cicero-North Syracuse School District. Jean lived with a physical disability, and so to honor her perseverance and success, the Jean Hawley Lynch Scholarship is intended to support a female student graduating from C-NS who also has a physical disability or, secondarily, a female student pursuing a career in education.
