The Women’s Fund of Central New York Supports COVID-19 Response

The Women’s Fund of Central New York announced today that it is modifying its grantmaking this year to support nonprofit organizations in the region.

The Women’s Fund of Central New York announced today that it is modifying its grantmaking this year to support nonprofit organizations in the region that are working with communities who are disproportionately impacted by coronavirus (COVID-19) and the economic consequences of this outbreak.

The fund will rapidly deploy flexible resources in the form of one-time operating grants on a rolling basis to nonprofits whose operations support women and girls stressed by the outbreak. The Women’s Fund of Central New York is seeding the effort with its own contribution and encourages individuals, institutions, and companies to donate as well. Grants will be released on a rolling basis as fundraising continues, making it possible to move resources quickly and adapt to evolving needs.

The Women’s Fund of Central New York is an affiliate fund of the Central New York Community Foundation. The volunteer-led fund supports, empowers and recognizes the advancement and full participation of women and girls in Central New York through an endowment fund, grants and initiatives. Since its inception in 1998, the Women’s Fund has awarded more than $360,000 in grants, and has grown its endowment to more than $1 million.
