Caragh D. Fahy, CFP®, owner and president of MadisonFinancial Planning Group was the 2024 and first recipient of our Partner in Philanthropy Award

We were delighted to announce the launch of our new Professional Advisor Recognition Society at our advisor reception, naming our first inaugural “Partner in Philanthropy” award recipient. The Partner in Philanthropy Award honors estate planning attorneys, financial advisors, tax accountants and life insurance professionals who prioritize philanthropy in their service to clients and have helped many clients achieve their charitable goals either during their lifetime or as part of a legacy for future generations. They are committed to the community and their work to support philanthropy and encourage charitable giving across Central New York.

Two women standing together

It is our utmost pleasure to honor Caragh Fahy, CFP® with the inaugural “Partner in Philanthropy” award this year. We have had the absolute honor of working closely with Caragh on various charitable gifts to benefit the community. Caragh believes that building a financial plan is like putting together a puzzle and charitable giving is an integral piece. Caragh and her team focus on lifetime giving as well as legacy planning with their clients as they believe it’s great to see them get excited about their charitable contributions at work while they are still alive to see them.

Caragh D. Fahy, CFP® is a Certified Financial Planner, Owner and President at Madison Financial Planning Group with over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. She specializes in financial planning for retirement transitions, guiding clients through the critical decision-making years of early retirement.

Caragh is highly engaged in our community and served on boards of numerous professional and nonprofit organizations. Caragh is Past President of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of Central New York and served on their board for six years. Caragh is currently serving on the board of the Syracuse Orchestra as their Finance Chair.

We were fortunate to have Caragh serve on our board at the Community Foundation and complete her six-year tenure in 2022, also serving as Finance Chair. Prior to joining our board, she served on our Foundation’s Professional Advisor Council for several years. She is former Chair of the Women’s Fund, an affiliate fund of the Community Foundation, that provides grants to organizations serving the needs of women and girls in Central New York. Caragh is Past President of County North Children’s Center in Liverpool, NY. She served on the Professional Advisory Board for Syracuse University’s Thursday Morning Roundtable and is an alumna of Leadership Greater Syracuse Class of 2008.
