Giving Seamlessly: Leyla Morgillo

Giving has always been intrinsic to Leyla Morgillo's being whether it be through her time or treasure. Now she helps her clients do the same—making impactful change in Central New York and beyond.

Giving has always been part of my DNA. I believe everyone has an obligation to give through either time or treasure, to help elevate the community around them. I feel fortunate to be able to give personally, while also helping my financial planning clients achieve their goals by doing the same.

When I meet with my clients, I start off by asking a lot of questions to get to know them better. It’s helpful to learn about what’s important to them, their personal values, and their financial goals and objectives. Based on these conversations, charitable giving is often a sensible solution to complement their financial plan.

The Community Foundation is instrumental in this process by offering my clients tailored giving solutions that resonate with their intentions and tax considerations. The staff at the Community Foundation ensures my clients’ giving intentions are honored through either the creation of a customized fund or countless other giving options — elevating their philanthropic endeavors to new heights.

Many of my clients want to provide for their families while simultaneously giving back to the community. The Community Foundation is a tremendous resource that allows them to incorporate charitable giving into their planning seamlessly. Working with the Community Foundation provides my clients with the opportunity to see the impact of their giving now while ensuring their legacies are honored and extend beyond mere transactions.

During my time serving on the Community Foundation’s board of directors, I’ve seen the heart behind the organization and the tangible difference it makes in our community. Witnessing the Community Foundation’s impact firsthand reinforces confidence in the transformative power of giving. I feel comfortable recommending it to my clients, knowing they’ll receive personalized support based on their values and objectives to make their giving journey meaningful, effective and intentional.

By supporting our community through either financial contributions or acts of services, we’re not just giving; we’re shaping a better future for Central New York, one intentional act of generosity at a time.
